With the convention now two weeks away, Pacific Media Expo began selling tickets to their three concerts yesterday afternoon. Although they did not begin sale at the same time, they each became available soon after one another. PMX also sent out a press release with a brief schedule of their three concerts:

  • 7 PM Saturday Nov. 10: LiN CLOVER (w/ Thee Out Mods)
  • 7 PM Sunday Nov. 11: Head Phones President (w/ The Slants)

PMX also announced a new addition to their convention called the Angelic Pretty’s Magical Boutique. Here’s what they had to say about it:

You can experience authentic Lolita shopping without flying to Japan or dealing with middleman services. Browse in a miniature boutique store of real Angelic Pretty merchandise, complete with displays and dressing rooms. Translators (provided by Cosplay Oneesan) will be on hand in case you need help shopping.

PMX also proudly announced on their site that the Angelic Pretty Fashion Brunch had sold out all of all 16 head table within two minutes. While there are still seats available for the brunch, they recommend that you do RSVP as soon as possible.

After a Week of Hell – Gratitude from a Less Than Inconvenienced Commuter

Comments Off

I was planning on posting something else tonight, but after I saw this screen shot, I had a change of heart. This goes out to all those hardworking firefighters out there, and to the people who lost more than just time on the 405.

For Your Consideration… Zero Punctuation

Comments Off

A co-worker introduced me to this a while back. It stars this cynical Britan named Yahtzee Croshaw who reviews video games by speaking rapidly into a microphone, and uses generic images in order to harshly pick apart some of the today’s best selling video games. In a lot of ways he can be compared to our home grown Angry Video Game Nerd, but once you get past the cynicism, it is in many ways like trying to compare Mel Brooks and Benny Hill (let that one roll in your head for a while). I’ve posted one of his reviews below (NSFW), but you can catch this bloke on The Escapist with a new review every Wednesday.

Enjoy!

From "That" Gaijin's Perspective: Featuring Clannad's Youhei Sunohara

Comments Off

While looking for new material to post, I had this idea constantly running through my mind. If you’re familiar with the series, you’re probably aware of Youhei’s sense of manliness, which causes him to get his rear rearranged. In fact, one of the recurring themes in the past three episodes involves him getting beaten by Tomoyo Sakagami, the girl with the gorgeous high kick in the second panel.

Antarctic Press Announces their December Line-up

Comments Off

Antarctic Press recently announced the upcoming December line-up, which includes a countdown to a milestone for Gold Digger fans, and a holiday theme Ninja High School. Here’s a brief description of NHS:

‘Twas the night before Christmas, when at the Feeple house
A ninja reindeer arrived, what a louse.

The deer had a mission that was quite unfair:
Seek Santa’s daughter, who could be found nowhere!
The ninja team did their best and looked around,
And were shocked when Santa’s girl was finally found!
It seemed little Claus was a partying sort
Who went to clubs, got drunk, and liked to cavort!
The ending is sweet and calls for a tissue-
Christmas is saved and more in this issue!

Judging by the last four lines, it’s bound to have the same kind of youthful havoc that you’d expect from NHS.

The press release also mentions several other big titles, including Pirates vs. Ninjas II volume 6 (of 8) and the conclusion of Sky Sharks! Antarctic Press will also be releasing several other items that are ideal for holiday gifts. These include “The Best of Rod Espinosa (DVD-ROM)”, Gold Digger Power Wall 2-Pack, Gold Digger Ultimate GD-ROM Collection Vol. 1 (DVD-ROM), and How to Draw Manga The Fred Perry Way DVD.
