Yu Gi Oh: The Abridged Series

Comments Off

Despite the fact that this series has been around for sometime, I figured if I just barley found out about it, then there’s a good chance that there are a few more people out there that have also just coming out of their cave. While I reluctant to give it a look, I found myself laughing harder than I had ever laughed at an abridged series. It slammed every thing that I had ever hated about the series. I also can’t believe that there are so many episodes this series has produced.
The series is slowing down in the rate of titles released, but there is still enough material to tide you over. Down below is a video to one episodes, namely the motion picture that was released in the US. For some reason it’s not listed in the website. To see more titles go to www.yugiohtheabridgedseries.com
Update 2008-05-03

Will wonders never cease. One day after I post this episode, it appears on their website. (^^);

Enjoy!

I AM IRON MAN! – Kotubukiya Announces their First Marvel Statue

?

Kotobukiya has sent out a press release featuring what will be their first inaugural release of Marvel Comics merchandise, a cold cast porcelain statue of Iron Man. While fans may notice how the announcement coincides with the movie release date, they may also be interested in the level of collaboration between the Japanese company, and the makers of the film…

Inspired by the original promotional one-sheet for the film, the armored avenger stands tall as 1/6th scale Fine Art Statue (approximately 13 inches tall). Stan Winston Studios fabricated the suit for the film based on designs by comic artist extraordinaire Adi Granov, and every detail of Iron Man’s Mark III armor has been faithfully replicated by the craftsmen at Kotobukiya. Kotobukiya has been working from reference provided by Marvel Studios, the level of mechanical detail is matched only by the personality conveyed by Iron Man’s heroic stance.

The Fine Art Statue will be coated in metallic paint, and will include features such as multiple LED lights on his eyes, Repulsor Ray palms, and the Unibeam on his chest. He will stand proudly and ever vigilant on his gray base (painted to match the Mark I color scheme), and the film logo placed below his feet.

The statue is set to have a limited released starting in November, with and SRP of $174.99. As the first of what Kotobukiya hope to be of an entire “SEASON” of goods, the company also hopes to release models from movies like “The Incredible Hulk” and “Punisher: War Zone” soon afterwards.

Look at me, look at me, hands in the air like it's good to be

Not much to say this time, for those who are not in the know, this is from the anime series ARIA the ANIMATION. It is the first of three seasons; the third and last season ended just days ago. Although the song becomes more dramatic over time, I still laughed when I associated the lyrics with this image.

Lessons Learned from Japan Nite

Last one out hit the lights

Arrive early if you want a spot in the mosh pit.

Japan Nite also plays both kinds of music, Country and Western.

The difference between 4:20 and 9:20… Dude wait what was I talking about?

I really need to get back onto my feet. Anyways, I wanted to give the bands that performed at Japan Nite a big shout out, especially towards ketchup mania and detroit 7; I will be giving a review of the concert later this week – or at least the parts I can remember…
