Kappei Yamaguchi to Appear at Sakura-con 2009

Comments Off

Seattle or Bust!
While my budget defers me from going outside Southern California for a convention, the recent news from Seattle made me rethink my method of transportation. Sakura-Con announced earlier today that their Guest of Honor list will now include Kappei Yamaguchi, Peter Fernandez, and Wendy Powell.

And suddenly the idea of walking wasn’t so bad.

While younger fans may know him from titles such as Inu Yasha, and Death Note, all eyes began turning towards him when he played the role of (male) Ranma in the anime series Ranma 1/2. With an even more extensive history in entertainment Peter Fernandez has been working in the industry since the late 1930′s. Anime fans know him for his work in 1967 as Rex Racer (a.k.a. Racer X) in the anime series Speed Racer. He is also known for scripting the series. Finally, Wendy Powell has been working with FUNimation and OkraTron as a voice actress for over seven years. Known for playing small roles (as ill fated characters), her best known role is for playing Envy in the anime series Fullmetal Alchemist.

Sakura-Con is scheduled to take place in Seattle, Washington from April 10th to the 12th. For more information, go to Sakuracon.org.
