NewYork-Tokyo.com sent out a press release yesterday announcing a new upcoming US tour featuring the group VAMPS. The tour will go from July 11th to August 1st. The group is project of Oblivion Dust guitarist K.A.Z. and L’Arc-en-Ciel vocalist HYDE.

In their partnership with IKKI, Viz Media has launched a new website called Sigikki.com. The two have worked together in the past through the Viz Signature line of graphic novels.
The monthly magazine IKKI began back in 2003 featuring a variety of compelling stories. The genres include action, comedy, drama, and slice-of-life. The first series to be serialized in English is Children of the Sea by Daisuke Igarashi. After seeing a ghost at her father’s aquarium, she becomes fascinated with it.
Viz will be releasing a new chapter each moth for free. After the first volume of Children of the Sea is completed, Viz will the volume available as a Signature graphic novel.

Japan Files sent out a press release regarding LM.C’s new single and the canceled show at the upcoming A-Kon.
First off, their single PUNKY HEART was just released on their site. It consists of two songs and is available for $1.98 US. The song Days is the opening theme song for the video game KATEKYO HITMAN REBORN! for the Nintendo DS.
Following the cancellation of their upcoming performance at A-Kon 20, LM.C made a special comment video for their fans who were hoping to see them later this month. Japan Files is also running a contest just for A-Kon attendees where they can win various autographed prizes. The winners will be picked by maya and Aiji themselves. Viz announced on Monday that they have released a historical non-fiction book called The Century of Black Ships. The book was researched and written by Naoki Inose, the Vice Governor of Tokyo.
The book’s main focus is an unconventional view between U.S. and Japan relations. It begins when U.S. Navy Commodore Matthew C. Perry first sails into Tokyo Bay and his fleet of “Black Ships” in 1853. It takes the perspective a various Japanese writers who gave voice to the anxieties of a nation headed towards war.
HearJapan announced on Sunday that they will be releasing several of Toshiyuki Yasuda’s albums. While his style varies based on the collaboration, Mr. Yasuda is known best for his robotic vocals as he sings broken Portuguese to Brazillian Bossa Nove Lounge music.

Last night Japan Files announced that Morning Musume’s new single Shouganai Yumeoibito reached number one on the weekly Oricon Singles Chart in Japan. This is the first time that the current group has reached it since the new nine member joined two and a half years ago.
The Project leader of Morning Musume Ai Takahashi had this to say:
Thank you very much for your support all the time. We received #1 on our 39th single “Shouganai Yumeoibito”, released on 5/13. When we first heard about it, everybody jumped!
We were very excited because after 2 and 1/2 years, this is our first #1 with the 9 new members.
We appreciate everybody’s support. We will never forget our appreciation for the fans!

Tuesday, the group Kalafina announced that they have released their first US album Seventh Heaven. The group is scheduled to make an appearance at Anime Boston later this month.

Yesterday, Anime Expo announced that the minds behind the stop-motion animation series Robot Chicken will be returning this year. The group will consist of Seth Green, Breckin Meyer, Chris McKay, Mike Fasolo, Douglas Goldstein, Tom Root, Kevin Shinick, and Erik Weiner.
