Pacific Media Expo posted on their website that animator/director/character designer Hiromi Kato and actor Jang Dong-gun will be appearing at the convention.
Hiromi Kato is known for his work in anime titles Revolutionary Girl Utena, Di Gi Charat Nyo and BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad. Jang Dong-gun has appeared in two of South Korea’s highest grossing movies Friend and Tae Guk Gi: The Brotherhood of War. He won Best Supporting Actor at the 2000 Asia Pacific Film Festival for the former.
Pacific Media Expo will be taking place November 12th to the 14th at the Hilton Pasadena Hotel in Pasadena, California. For more information go to pacificmediaexpo.info.

Tricky Pixie and Cel*Style to Appear at MEWCon
Comments OffM.E.W. Convention announced two days ago that Tricky Pixie will be appearing as their musical guest. Cel*Style’s design team will also be appearing as guests.
Tricky Pixie is a trio known for its “Gypsy Celtic Folk Rock”. There’s a video of their performance after the jump. Cel*Style is a collection of Role Playing Games books that were created by indie designers from around the world.

MMD – Smooth Criminal featuring Marissa and Company
Comments OffI initially wasn’t going to post this due to the clipping issues throughout the video, but I finally gave in to the valiant effort, and well here it is.
This is a recreation of Michael Jackson’s Smooth Criminal during what I believe was his Dangerous Tour. It was made using Miku Miku Dance software and features Touhou’s Marissa, Reimu and Sakuya. I posted the original live dance after the jump for a compare and contrast.

So obviously this is a crossover between Mel Brooks’ Spanish Inquisition number, and the nuns from To Aru Majutsu no Index. Quite honestly, I could never picture Mother Angelica dressed in such a manner.

The video was released back in September on their official YouTube channel. The song is called Heavy Rotation from their single of the same name, which was released in August.
