Miyuki Sawashiro’s Wish Come True

Earlier this year, Sawashiro, during her award ceremony for Favorite Overseas Seiyuu, thanked and addressed the crowd in English of her wish to visit her fans abroad. Two days ago, Anime Expo announced her attendance as a Guest of Honor for this year’s festivities. It looks like she will receive her wish.

Kiyoshi Hikawa Wins the Grand Prize at the 43rd Annual Nihon Yusen Taisho Awards

Tokyo Graph reported today that famous Enka singer Kiyoshi Hikawa has won the Nihon Yusen Taisho Awards. He has won the award six times in total, and this is his second consecutive year.

The video above features him singing “Zundoko Bushi”.

Multiple Announcements Made on Behalf of Hikaru Utada

There were three announcements made for singer Hikaru Utada today. The news includes a concert, a new commercial and her own twitter account.

Utada will be performing her first solo concerts in Japan since her tour in 2006. The concerts which will mark the twelve year anniversary of her debut single “Automatic / time will tell” will take place on December 8 and 9. She also been cast in a commercial for Pepsi Nex. This is her first television commercial in five years. Finally in leading up to her album’s release “Utada Hikaru Single Collection Volume 2″ she has launched an official Twitter account.

More details about the concert in a website due to appear in October.

Yuji Oda (42)and his management agencey announced on Saturday that he and his wife (30) registered their marraige on August 16. No other information has been provided.

Yuji Oda gained popularity early in his carrer playying roles in dramas such as “Tokyo Love Story” and “Okane ga Nai!”.

Actor Tsuyoshi Abe Marries Shi Ke this Past Weekend

Some quick celebrity news out of Japan, Actor Tsuyoshi Abe announced on Monday that he married Chinese actress Shi Ke. The two of them met while filming the movie “Stand in Love” in 2006.

The marriage became official when the couple registered themselves on Sunday at a Tokyo office. One of Abe’s best known roles in Japan was when he played a member of the group F4 in the TV drama “Hana Yori Dango”. Shi Ke reported that she will take a break from acting some time this summer to come to Japan.

Taiwn Singer AhSang Dies from Breast Cancer at 34

Yahoo Taiwan reported today that Taiwan singer AhSang had died from breast cancer on Saturday. She was 34.

According to the site, she first discovered the cancer back in October when she felt ill in her Mainland performance. Upon her return to Taiwan she found out that she was suffering from breast cancer, and that it was in the final stages. She had kept the news a secret so that she wouldn’t burden her friends.

AKB48 announced on their blog that Team A member Nozomi Kawasaki will be leaving her group on February 27. According to the blog, she will be starting her own line of clothing as early as next month.

According to her own blog, the brand name is called “Anti minss”, and will have a launch event on March 1.

Emmy Rossum Talks to MTV About Dragonball Evolution

MTV caught up to Emmy Rossum during the Sundance Festival, and talked to her about her upcoming role as Bulma in Dragonball Evolution. She was at the event to debut her new film Dare.

She says “She’s (Bulma) a lot tougher than any character I’ve ever played”. Near the end of the video she says that she’s looking forward to see how the Kamehameha turns out, and that “Justin Chatwin did it justice”.
