About four years ago, the Canadian comedy troupe “Loading Ready Run” began holding a video game marathon for the sake of charity. Tomorrow at 6 p.m. they will begin their fourth year.
The time that they spend playing is based on how much money has been donated to Child’s Play. Last year they received over 100 grand and played five days and 16 hours. As of now, they have received donations which will require them to play for over 80 hours (3.33+ Days).
You can check out the live feed starting tomorrow either at The Escapist or at desertbus.org.
Update: I changed the picture to reflect that the fundraiser is now over. Congratulations to the Loading Ready Run crew. Get some sleep.

IMHO: The judges gave some pretty tough questions to both sides. Hopefully this won’t be the end of Bugs Bunny…

IMHO: As someone who lives next to the largest city West of the Mississippi, I’ve never really understood why people are so upset with the whole situation. I think this video not only clarifies the topic, but also gives reasonable solutions.
In an interview with PC Gamer, Treyarch’s Cesar Stastny (head of the PC Development team) mentioned that Call of Duty: Black Ops will feature dedicated servers. There was something of a negative reaction amongst PC gamers when Infinity Ward removed the feature from Modern Warfare 2 last year.
From the interview
“We had dedicated servers in our last title, we had planned on dedicated servers for our subsequent title all along, so we haven’t actually wavered on that at all. We are a PC developer. I’ve been running a dedicated PC team since the beginning of this project. We had one last project. We are making a true PC title here and I think it’s a really important platform for our studio, and I’m also really thrilled that we can support the PC community as much as we can.â€

IMHO: Normally something like this would surprise me, but after the announcement for Duke Nukem last month. For the record I’m actually more excited for Shenmue than I was for Duke Nukem.

Electronic Arts has announced on their Medal of Honor web page to remove the Taliban from Medal of Honor. This a result of multiple letters from families and friends of fallen soldiers.
The announcement comes just hours before the multiplayer beta client was supposed to go live. While placing the Taliban in the first place sparked quite a controversy, Executive Producer Greg Goodrich says he has gotten a lot of positive feedback from active milirary, and friends and family of servicemen and women currently deployed overseas. However…
…we have also received feedback from friends and families of fallen soldiers who have expressed concern over the inclusion of the Taliban in the multiplayer portion of our game. This is a very important voice to the Medal of Honor team. This is a voice that has earned the right to be listened to. It is a voice that we care deeply about. Because of this, and because the heartbeat of Medal of Honor has always resided in the reverence for American and Allied soldiers, we have decided to rename the opposing team in Medal of Honor multiplayer from Taliban to Opposing Force.
The web page has also mentions while the word Taliban is out, the gameplay will remain the same and feature the same weapons as before. In the end, you’re just another nameless extremist group.
