In the game “Rebuild” the city has been overrun by zombies. Only a handful of people have have managed to create a zombie free zone; it’s relatively protected by a barracades. You orgainize daily tasks which include recruiting survivors, scavenging for food, and reclaiming land. The city blocks are divided into different categories that increase food, morale, living quarters, defense, and technology. You are placed smack dab in the middle of the city, and since each map is random, no two cities are alike. There are several ways of winning the game (besides clearing all the tiles out) – and they include reclaiming city hall to create a new parliament, reclaiming an evil cemetery to seal a portal, or reclaiming three labradories to find a find a cure.

All the essential staples for a quick game are here. It takes less than a minute to send out all the needed commands for a single day, and the save feature makes it easy to pick up where you. What I really liked about it is the whole new spin on zombie survivor genre. For the most part it’s also well balanced, and while I’ve had trouble getting to an essential block, I’m able to endure in normal difficulty.

The only real bone that I have to pick with it is the learning curve between “Normal” and “Hard”. While there is a something of a balance in challanges with in the former, the latter is unforgiving in attacks, and this is taking into account that there are two even more difficult levels to choose from (“Harder” and “Nightmare”). The other (more forgiveable) issue is much like “Flight”, you can only go to the main menu if you reload the page. This makes it tedious if you want to start all over again.

In short it’s a fun little game for the zombie lovers who want to get some game on during their break. If you’re looking to get the taste of Valentine’s Day out of your mouth you could do a lot worse.
Sorry for the delay. This past month has been less than generous technology wise. I have posted a new article about my experience at Pacific Media Expo. The short answer, glad to see PMX making the move with more potential to grow. Here’s hoping the next move will be to the convention center two blocks away.

You can tell me what you think about the review here, (too lenient, to strict, etc.). As always C&C welcome. Flames not.

Sorry for the delay! It’s funny how one convention can suddenly drop a whole lotta work load ontop of another. To give you an idea about my review, one of the hot topics over AX this year was over its location. There was also talk about moving the convention over to a bigger and better location such as San Diego. So I primarily focused on how things were handled at the LACC and why San Diego would be a bad idea…

So if you have some time, read on as I shoot my mouth off over the biggest con in North America!

Stay in Long Beach, play at the LA Convention Center, have dinner at Universal City… Go Metro.

DASH however… (Sigh)

The final score for the Los Angeles Convention Center on this 4th of July weekend: Anime Expo 1 – Evangelical Patriotic Christian Convention 0. Anime Expo wins by default.

Sonic getting “pulled” over by the LAPD. I can mark that off my checklist now.

The secret lies in Kenita Hall.

And so ends my part of what was a very surprising weekend. I have a ton of stuff that I’m going to talk about, a few stores I’d like to introduce you all to, and of course what I saw that worked, and what I saw that didn’t work. I have one more picture for now. When I first got there I noticed that there was a small entrance to the rail station on Pico (north side). It looked kinda lonely… so I gave it a voice.

When I first starting posting the reviews on the blog rather than it’s old home, I thought I could post frequently enough that I could add an extra list on the front page. Having a great fall, I’ve realized that it’s not the case. Therefore when OmoshiroiBlog gets its next face lift next week, the articles will be officially removed and I will temporarily go back to the old format on the main website.

See you all on the 24th… if not sooner!

Sorry for the delay; I could rant about what went wrong, or what I’ve learned from all this, but let’s not and just say we did shall we? To commemorate this long overdue review, I posted a piece of the 2002 version of the series. There aren’t any major spoilers so no need to worry.

You may also notice that the heading no longer says “.net”. I recently purchased the “.com” domain name so I felt there wasn’t any need to disassociate it with other domain types. Hopefully this will make it easier to remember.
