AMVHell.com announced earlier this month that their fifth compilation of politically incorrect shorts is now available for downloading. While I haven’t seen it myself, I’m pretty sure that I don’t have to tell you that it’s NSFW.

AMV – Boats and Birds
Comments OffWow. A good AMV that’s longer than two minutes! That’s almost unheard of these days. The song “Boats and Birds” is from the group Gregory and the Hawk.

AMV – Koopiskeva's Twilight
Comments OffI found this video that was recently posted on YouTube. I’m not usually a fan of people putting those comments on top of their videos, but the video quality was a little higher than what I found on Yoku.com. The name of the video is Twilight. It was created by AnimeMusicVideo.org member Koopiskeva, and features the anime series Kanon composed on live pictures. The music is from Asobi Seksu.

AMV – Nostromo's Auriga (NSFW)
Comments OffThis video has been around YouTube for a while. I’m really surprised that it has received so few hits (currently in the four digits) for a few reasons. The first is because of the incredible effects used throughout the video, and how well it matches the music (especially the lip sync). The other is because of the quality of the video; it’s sharper than 99% of the AMVs out there.
The name of the song is Watch Them Fall Down by DJ Spoke.

Final Fantasy Advent Ghosts
Comments OffOne more for the road. GameTrailers user Setsu created this AMV themed around the original Ghostbusters music. He used the footage from the movie Final Fantasy: Advent Children. Take it away Ray Parker Jr.!
AMV – Beautiful Day
Comments OffLooking to switch gears until something else picks up, here is a music video that I found the other day. It’s called Beautiful Day, by Funky-kun, and it features the U2 song by the same name.

As one of the three goals of this blog is to post various gems found across the Internet, this next video came as a happy surprise. When DivX was in its early stages, fan subs were becoming more of a household word, including anime fans here in the US. One of the results from this fledgling technology was that Anime Music Videos were able to be produced much easier. Of course issues like resolution or subtitles were considered a slight nuisance, but tolerable nonetheless. The process of making an AMV has become a lot more sophisticated, and our amount of resources – though often frowned upon – has become much more abundant. Now certain issues that were we let slide seven to ten years ago would now be considered almost taboo.
About seven years ago, Thorax Entertainment created an AMV based of the TV series “Love Hina” and using the song “Your Horoscope for the Day” by Weird Al Yankovic. It was an entertaining piece, and the group did a great job associating the scenes with music. Of course by now the video is showing its age, and with newer and more available resources, I was hoping against hope that a good remake of the AMV would magically appear. Well it looks like wishes do come as back in May Thorax Entertainment posted a remake of the video on their web site Antabaka.net…
